There are no official announcements yet, but Whitebeard, Marco, and Radical Beam are joining Moby dick in another attempt to balance Whitebeard.
Although no official announcements were made by Bandai, it appears that the three cards are added to the official site for restricted cards. We don’t know if this is a leak or a miscommunication on Bandai.
According to the announcement, players can now only use 1 copy of the cards. Although this restriction is only for the EN players, players in Asia might remember that during a live stream, the casters said there would be a special announcement by July. Players immediately concluded that it was a balancing announcement, but Whitebeard and Big Mom were the most talked about being restricted but given the current trend where the two versions are just mirroring each other, it looks like Big Mom escaped the chopping block.
We still have to wait for the official announcement coming from Bandai to make these changes official.
OCG will not adopt the restrictions
The official Japanese Twitter account of One Piece Card Game announced that they will not follow the restriction done by the Global version.
According to the tweet, the restriction was done due to the environment of the global version and that the meta in OCG is quite healthy at the moment. The question is, will Bandai reverse the restriction once OP04 hits in global?
