One of the most controversial leaders in the game takes center stage as, for the first time, Nami wins preliminaries!
The first preliminary after the season break had ended, and as the dust was settled, Ayatora’s Nami stood above the competition.
In the finals, we saw a very familiar matchup nowadays. Ayatora’s Nami fought Massi’s R/G Law. Entering the match, Massi was the favorite given that one of Nami’s greatest weaknesses is the multiple attacks of the R/G Law, and what adds to the odds is that Ayatora is using the old OP-03 build of Impel Down Nami, which means he doesn’t have the tech card Demolition Breath that is good against Zoro and Law.

Law is doing good at the early stage, hitting Nami while she’s vulnerable, resulting in two taken lives at the very early stage, but Lady Luck decides to smile at Ayatora. Ayatora triggered an Impel Down All-Star and a Desert Spada on his second and third life, replenishing his hands. During the mid-game, Massi failed to capitalize on his lead by not filling the board with attackers, and he just opted to attack with his leader, a Zoro, and a Green Law. This led to Ayatora sitting comfortably and defending only three attacks per turn.
Due to the few attackers, Ayatora built the lead and sealed the deal with a deck out thanks to the Gum Gum Gavel and Ussop’s Rubber Band of Doom in the final counter phase.
