Attention Nakamas! The organizers of the One Piece Trading Card Game Philippine Preliminaries have unveiled a series of rule changes for the upcoming Championship 2023 Preliminaries tournament. These changes added some cards to the legal card pool as well as the prize structure.

ST-12 is now legal

One of the biggest questions in the upcoming tournament has already been answered. ST-12, or the Zoro & Sanji deck, is now officially legal to use in the Preliminaries.

The legality of the ST-12 has been in limbo for quite a while. A particular technicality from the official distributor prevented the tournament organizers from deciding whether ST-12 cards would be allowed to be played in the Preliminaries. The official distributor in the Philippines has a general rule when it comes to new products. As long as the product is not available nationwide, it cannot be used in official tournaments. This rule affected the legality of ST-12; the distributor is not sure whether the deck will hit the shelves on the official release, October 28, which is just days before the Preliminaries, so the organizers can’t answer if they will allow it. This dramatically affects the deck construction of the hottest deck in the game right now: Green Uta, as the 3-cost Mihawk, is a crucial component of the new Uta build.

1v1 Prize Structure Reduced

Not all changes are good in the upcoming Preliminaries. In a sudden announcement, the main distributor, Courtside, revealed that there was a mistake in the official Bandai announcement about the prize structure of the Preliminaries.

This resulted in a significant change in the prize structure as 3 prize cards will be deducted. The changes will be as follows:

Trafalgar Law – Top 2Trafalgar Law – Grand Champion
Eustass Kid – Top 5Eustass Kid – Top 3
Invite – Top 5Invite – Top 3
