The ONE PIECE Card Game Encore Pack, a limited-edition set of promotional cards released in Japan to commemorate the encore screening of the movie “ONE PIECE FILM RED,” has been deemed illegal from use in all official One Piece Card Game tournaments in Southeast Asia.

The Encore Pack contains eight promotional cards, seven featuring illustrations from Uta’s song MV and the other featuring Gear 5 Luffy. In addition, the Encore Pack is a limited-edition set, which means that it is not widely available. This could make it difficult for some players to obtain the cards.

According to a representative of Maxsoft, the official distributor of OPCG here in SEA, the reason for the move is that they don’t have any news if the promos will be available publicly outside Japan.

It has always been a rule here in SEA that you cannot use the cards if they are not publicly available. The previous FILM promo cards were also restricted previously as the promos were delayed in some parts of Asia, and Bandai decided to limit the use until it was available to the whole region.

However, players can still use the Encore Pack in unofficial tournaments* and casual play. They will also be able to collect the cards for their personal collections.

NOTE: * means it’s upon their tournament organizers’ discretion.
